We are proud to be part of the Healthy Schools initiative and in 2014 we renewed our Healthy Schools certificate, demonstrating that we are still looking for new ways to improve the health of all our children.
We are currently looking at ways to improve lunchtime eating habits and encouraging healthy packed lunches. For example no sweets or fizzy drinks are allowed in school.
Key Stage 1 (Reception -
Fruit only as provided by the school.
Key Stage 2 (Years 3-
We have specifically targeted the area of playtime snacks in Key Stage 2. After consultation with parents, via the head teachers forum, children and staff, new rules were set restricting snacks to fruit only from home.
Children can bring fruit from home or purchase snacks from the tuck trolley at a cost of 40p. A range of healthy snacks are provided; including hot snacks and drinks in winter and fresh fruit in summer. It is run as an enterprise by the children of the enterprise club.
